Does My Lab Mix Have Gas – or Something More Serious?

My 1 1/2-year-old mixed Lab has some kind of inflammation near his belly-button region (it showed up on an ultrasound). It might be the reason that he whines in pain and throws up. I’m wondering if it could just be gas?
